"I Always Had a Free Spirit Vibe, But My Typical Asian Parents Wanted Me To Become A Doctor."

I remember when I finished the matriculation exam in 2017, thinking “Man.. My parents want me to become a doctor and now what i really have to think about is what i really like to do”.It was just all in my thoughts and i am literally directionless. My parents expected me so much but i can see the end of my matriculation exam. No Med school can be reached out and all i really had is my parents disappointment. They really had such high hopes for me.But one thing i am sure during that time is that I wanna make my own income. But not daring to jump out of the comfort zone...

Convocation

I was A Mess Back Then...

As a confused 17 years old girl, I chose to attend business management school which is affiliated with the UK. Typically passed those 4 years of Management without having a single thought of finding a mentor or living life at ease. Whenever I think of it, I still have a big regret for those times. Yet, I really enjoyed and fully had a youthful life and lifelong friends. Those were such good old times but adding a pinch of salty regret.

In my youth, I lacked my courage and knowledge to focus on my true feelings and desire for what I really wanted to be. Just having fun with friends, attending classes was the one I enjoyed the most. Sometimes, I even fail the exams and have to take the module again. After attending 2 schools at the same time, One is Distance Education and the other is a UK Business Management diploma, I gradually lost interest in following academics.

Me and My Logistics career journey

On the 2nd Year of Distance Education, I decided to apply for jobs with no direction. What I really know is I will apply marketing. But You know what? I end up in sales, haha. And its supply chain and logistics which my Business Management school taught  just a small part. Curious question might pop up: “How did I get hired?”. I applied for two jobs when I was only 19 years with no experience. I started looking for jobs at the job fairs of our school being held. Got replied to interview from both on the same day. The 1st one I went was the logistics company. Went there, got interviewed, negotiated salary, then went to the second interview place. On the way to the 2nd interview, I got the confirmation call from the Logistics company within 4 hours. I didn’t know what happened to me, without any second thoughts, I immediately accepted the job. The feelings at that time were very complicated. I should have gone to the second interview and let myself choose the better one. But this little girl who did not have such wide vision at that time chose the logistics field. That's how my Logistics journey started and lasted till now.

Journey Through The Years In Logistics

Starting from 19 till this age, there were ups and downs throughout my Journey. I laughed, I cried, I experienced a lot of the outside world problems that seemed really easy for me. Fun Fact, although I’m about to go bald due to unreapted problems in the Logistics field.
